Stephen King is a master storyteller. And his evocation of place – especially, obviously, places in Maine – is masterful. And being in the company of so many of his characters is an absolute joy. In these ways, I think he is very comparable to Dickens! (And far superior to many, supposedly more literary authors who wouldn’t know a good story if it took a running jump at them!)
